Does Your Agent Measure Up?

There is little difference between products and pricing when it comes to insurance. All insurance professionals have great products and prices to offer you. The difference is truly in the agent. Having an agent you know and trust is a key step toward developing peace of mind.
1. Communication - Does your agent communicate with you other than the monthly bill? Do they conduct an annual review to make sure your needs have not changed over the past year? A good insurance agent schedules an appointment to meet with clients at least every two years to review your existing insurance coverage's and will offer you new products that are right for your situation and within your budget.
2. New information - Does your agent keep you informed of new products even if it is offered at a lower price? Your insurance agent should let you know about new products that would be of benefit to you and your family. Your agent should also let you know about products that are available at lower prices.

3. Personal Attention - Does your agent know you by name? Do they take a personal interest in your family's needs? Insurance protects you and your family when life throws you a curve ball. It is important that your insurance agent takes a personal interest in getting to know you and your family in order to ensure your family is properly protected.
4. Availability - Is your agent available to talk with or meet with you when you have questions? Insurance agents should be willing to assist you by being available to meet with you in person whenever you request an appointment, returning your phone calls, and responding to your emails.
5.Community Involvement - Does your agent get involved in the local community? Do they have a reputation of being a good neighbor? A good insurance agent cares not only about his clients but also the greater community.
6. Friendly - Is your agent a nice person? Are they happy to see you when you meet on the street or at a community function? A good insurance agent cares about you as a person not just about your business.
7. Respectful- Does your agent respect you as a person? Are you treated as a friend or are they always looking for the next sale? Respect is the basis of all strong relationships and is important when working with someone at both a professional and personal level.
8. Relationship- Does your agent give you the confidence they will be available for long-term service? An agent that has taken an interest in getting to know your individual and family needs will help make sure you receive the proper protection for many years to come.
A great agent will invest in the time to get to know you. They will offer you the products that are right for your situation and within your insurance budget.
